Sports physical
A sports physical also referred to as Preparticipation Physical Evaluation (PPE), is an appointment often required when registering your child for sports participation. The doctor will ask about your child's medical history and perform a physical evaluation. Medical history includes questions about past and family disease history, but also about symptoms while exercising, history of feeling dizzy, light headiness, chest pain, or passing out. A physical examination will be mostly focused on musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and visual function. The overall goal of this visit is to identify health issues that may interfere with your child's ability to participate in certain sports or that may put them at risk of being hurt while playing.
