As a home sleep study is a more simplified test that monitors your breathing while sleeping and is a good initial option to diagnose Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS). This test also records your physiological parameters while sleeping by the placement of sensors in your chest, abdomen, and fingers as well as a device to measure your breathing. The at-home sleep test, while a good, cost-effective initial approach, is less sensitive than the polysomnography and may not detect subtle breathing issues or can measure other physiological values.
