Eye emergency, foreign object removal
A foreign object in your eye is a medical emergency. It should be addressed by a doctor in an emergency room as soon as it happens. Your doctor may apply some anesthetic eye drops, using fluorescent dye in an eye drop that allows them to see scratches or foreign bodies on the surface of the eye. If a foreign body is seen or suspected, your doctor may then wash out your eye with a saline solution. You may later be referred to an ophthalmologist or prescribed some medications and eye care to ensure proper healing of any scratches on your cornea.
